Knoxville Police Department
When you see suspicious activity in the neighborhood or witness a crime it is often confusing as to who you should notify and which number do you call? Below you will find information on local agencies as well as their contact information:
- For emergencies, call 911. Exactly what is an emergency can sometimes be an instinct or intuition.
- For non-emergencies, call 215-4010. If you notice a suspicious car that
keeps coming through the neighborhood at the same time every day or parking in front of a vacant lot, you need to report this to the police. A police officer will come out but emergencies will take precedent. - For the drug/crime hotline, call 215-7212. The police do not know who is calling. Use this if you have information that will help the police.
3-1-1
One number, one call is what the City of Knoxville 311 customer service center is all about. City residents can dial 3-1-1 to access information about services provided by the City and for non-law enforcement such as cracked sidewalks, pot holes, abandoned cars or houses, un-kept yards, fire hazards, city park problems, brush & garbage pickup, recycling, and other city services issues.
